Urban Planning & Design in Curitiba, Brazil

Dear 2007 Group,

It's about time we start thinking of ourselves as a group. We'll spend six weeks together, but it's worth taking a few minutes ahead of time to get to know each other virtually before we do it in person. That way, when we get to São Paulo, we won't feel like total strangers.

Most of you have been in close contact with Renata. She will be the person with whom you'll have day-to-day contact during the program. Another person you'll meet in São Paulo is Francisca, but I'll save that introduction for later. Together with these two young ladies, I'll do my best to make your experience in Brazil enjoyable.

Upon arrival in São Paulo, we'll have time to rest for a little while. Then, on Friday afternoon, we'll have an orientation meeting and shortly after that your learning experience begins with an introductory lecture about the City of São Paulo. Additional lectures and field trips are planned for Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

We'll be using this blog to keep you updated, to send you timely information about schedules and activities of the program, and any other communication that may be necessary. Please check both your e-mail and this blog for information on arrival tips. Since we're arriving at different times on various airlines, we'll let you know where to meet the group.

If I don't talk to you in the next few days, have a safe trip and I'll see in São Paulo!
